Getting high on acid (LSD) is also known as an “acid trip” or “psychedelic experience” and is technically termed LSD intoxication. During this period of intoxication, users experience a wide variety of effects, most often visual and other sensory distortions, changes to thought processes, intense emotions, including euphoria, and occasionally for some people, surprising new insights.

Psychedelic Pride on 19 April celebrates the anniversary of Swiss scientist Albert Hofmann becoming the first ever person to ingest LSD, a substance that many including Charlie Gilmour feel is due for rehabilitation Established by the UK’s Psychedelic Society, users are encouraged to corner a lucky parent, sibling, or even colleague and “explain to them how psychedelics have benefited you”. As the organisers note: “Breaking the taboo on psychedelic use is an important step in the campaign for their legalisation and regulation.”
Psychedelic is undoubtedly my favourite sound. I’ve spent many an hour getting high with my friends, listening to some class psychedelic music but what exactly is psychedelic music?
I mean, for most people it probably conjures up images of the sixties, hippies, counterculture and whatnot however psychedelic sounds have certainly existed before and after the sixties. For instance, in Western classical music composers like Debussy used octatonic scales and modes to achieve new and interesting sounds, and the whole tone scale to create dream-like
